The Javelina or Collared Peccary is a common animal in the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts living in groups of a dozen or more animals. They can be aggressive at times. But, at other times they enjoy the quiet of a nap in the shade as this mother and youngster are enjoying their “quiet time.”
