1 Mated Pair of Dwarf Seahorses. (1 Male and 1 Female) Our seahorses are all captive born and raised in our fish room. Multiple tanks are used for several thriving colonies. The young pair you are purchasing will be between 2-3 months old. The male will have given birth to 1 viable brood of baby seahorses before being shipped to ensure he is fertile. We ship them at this age as they only have a 2 year life span and this ensures he will breed and produce some young for you. The Female deposits 5 to 30 eggs in the males brood pouch. The male is the parent that carries the eggs in his brood pouch, much like a kangaroo. After approximately 10 days, he will deliver 5-30 young. These are saltwater fish and must be kept in a saltwater tank with appropriate tank mates. They are not good at competing for food so it is best to keep them in a dwarf seahorse only tank if you are uncertain of what to keep with them. They will do fine in a 2.5 to 10 gallon aquarium. We actually keep all of our colonies in 10 gallon tanks. They must be fed live baby brine shrimp. This can be as simple as adding a small amount of brine shrimp eggs to the top of the water and waiting for a day or so for them to hatch. You can also hatch the brine shrimp in a separate container and then transfer only the shrimp without egg shells. (preferred method) Specific gravity of your saltwater should be 1.022, temp at 75, and Ph right around 7. If these simple conditions are met, they will most certainly breed for you. I include a small amount of brine shrimp eggs with each order to get you started. The pictures below are one of our colonies and your seahorse will come from this colony.

In the rare case that one or more of the fish have arrived dead, please take a picture or two of the dead fish on a paper towel or other surface. Please do not send pictures of the dead fish in the bag as we cannot tell if they are alive or dead with pictures like this. The pictures should be sent using the eBay messaging. Once we receive the pictures and verify the loss, we will provide a refund or reship replacements. If you choose to have replacements shipped, we do not provide any refund if the replacements arrive dead. Please note that if we sent extra fish with your order, we do not provide any refund on the extra fish. (ie, your order was for 3 fish and we sent 5, and 2 fish arrived dead, there would be no refund) If you do not agree with this Live Arrival Guarantee, please do not purchase our fish.

We ship all of our fish by USPS Priority Mail. The fish are packed in plastic bags with an anti-fungal which also helps reduce the stress during shipment and Prime, which is added to keep the amount of ammonia buildup low. When shipped by USPS Priority Mail, the estimated time in transit to you is 2-4 days. If you prefer, for additional cost, we can ship Priority Express Mail, the estimated time in transit to you is 1-2 days. We include enough oxygen in the bags to last 7 days in transit.
Usually around the middle of October, we add heat packs so that the inside of the box stays warm enough not to stress the fish. I have been asked over and over again if the fish will arrive alive. Remember, most of the fish that you purchase from a pet store were imported from other countries and spent 2 to 4 days in transit to the trans-shipper who then acclimates the fish and resells them to the pet shops.
